OIL PAINT

Oil colors are a type of paint with which you can make opaque and transparent paintings. With oil colors you can paint wet-into-wet (i.e. mix paint both on the palette and on the canvas), layered (apply a layer of paint once the previous has dried) and you can glaze (work with very thin transparent layers). One of the characteristics of oil colors is that the brush stroke remains visible.

AQUARELL – WATERCOLOR
PAINTS

Watercolors/aquarel is a technique whereby the paint, thinned with water or as it is, is applied on special watercolor-paper.

GOUACHE

GLASS PAINTS

Gouache, which means “water paint” or “splash” in Italian, is a type of opaque watercolor paint in which the pigment is suspended in water. Gouache is different from watercolor in that the particles are larger, there is much more pigment, and a white pigment such as chalk is also present, which is how gouache retains is amazing velvety, opaque, reflective qualities.

The finest paints and mediums in oils, acrylics, gouaches and watercolors

Many painters prefer acrylic paint because acrylic paint dries much faster than oil paint and is almost odorless. With acrylic paints a thin or a watercolor effect can be obtained in dilution with water. However, thick acrylic paint is usually applied and the result seems very similar to that of oil paint. Acrylic paint is a fast-drying paint based on 100% Acrylic.
